Desalto started out as a production company in the 1950s, in a privileged region where many masters of Italian design found fertile ground for their work: the Brianza furniture district.
The corporate mission is to maintain a privileged relationship between the designer and the producer, a decision that creates a virtuous cycle that fosters a line of products with a clean design and very high quality standards.
Desalto works with a variety of Italian and foreign designers - a mix of emerging young talent and consolidated, acclaimed professionals. Marco Acerbis, Shin Azumi, Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, Fattorini Rizzini & Partners are just a few of the big names who work with the brand.
The resulting products have become international best-sellers and have won many awards, including the XXIII Compasso d'Oro ADI and several editions of the Best of the Best from the Interior Innovation Award in Cologne.
Moreover, the Entronauta chair, designed by Riccardo Blumer, was officially accepted in 2010 in the permanent collection at the MoMA in New York.
Today, Desalto is one of the leading companies in the worldwide home furnishings sector, and its products are distributed in Europe, Asia and the Americas through around 1500 stores.
